Hello, my name is Melissa Burns and I am running for NUS Delegate.

 

I am currently a second year student studying BSc Hons Criminology and Criminal Psychology at the Greenwich Maritime campus. I am also on the committee for the University’s cheerleading squad and part of Greenwich Raise & Give (RAG), as well as living at the Avery Hill campus.

 

As an active member of the SU over the past 2 years, being involved in a sports team, a society and mentoring first year students on my course, I feel that I could effectively represent the diverse range of University of Greenwich students, at the national conference. I am interested in the on-going issues that arise for students, both at our University and nationally, including mental health awareness for lecturers and students, equality for women, and the increase of education fees.

 

I would love the opportunity to make sure our voices are heard.
